How much do you charge for website design and development?
The starting price for a basic site is $800, but we like to negotiate. So please, call or email us before making any decisions. Site development (programming) may require a bit more work and cost more (see Packages). For larger projects, design and site development is billed at an hourly rate of $20. Our initial consultation will determine your needs.
How long does it take to have my site up and running?
That depends a lot on you! Client interaction during the build is a major key to any project. If we send you questions or ask for approvals and after three days of emails and calls you finally answer us back, you just pushed the project end date back by three days. On our side, we try our best to respond within a four hour block of time.
Most smaller projects can be completed in around 14 days, maybe sooner. While larger projects may require as much or more than 30 days, it all depends on the scope of the project. We give ourselves a little wiggle room, just in case. Again, this is something we will address in our initial consultation. If your looking for a website this week, contact us, we’ll see what we can do.
How long will you provide support or update my website?
We will support and provide small updates to your site for one (1) full year from the date of completion.
Examples of small updates include changing out pictures on the site every couple months to updating a static section on the pages, like contact information. Larger updates default to our hourly rate ($20) and may include, but not be limited to: new pages, changes to the overall layout and special promotional pages.
Do I need to make a deposit upfront?
No, not unless it is a larger project, otherwise full payment is due within 30 days of the project completion.
Does the cost include my domain and hosting?
No. The quoted price for your website is for our time and consultation. Domain(s) and hosting are separate, although we will gladly purchase and bill you for the hosting separately. We prefer you purchase the domain(s) yourself (see Domains, Hosting).
Does the cost include pictures that I need for the site?
No. Royalty free stock photos are an added expense and will appear on your invoice. Don’t worry we will discuss any addition purchases needed before making them. Pictures that you provide should be digital, not scanned, with the highest megapixel camera you can get your hands on. Believe it or not, iPhone’s do not provide the best picture quality, especially when we start making changes to the pictures.
I’m in another state, can we still have a face-to-face meeting?
Sure, as long as you are willing to pay for travel expenses. We’re willing to drive anywhere in our geographical area when it only takes us about an hour. For longer trips we ask that you pay mileage, airfare and hotel expenses. Even if paying for travel expenses isn’t in your budget, we have other ways of meeting you, online. We will gladly walk you through the process so we can have a video conference with you, at no charge.
